Philodendron scandens is known as the Sweetheart Plant, or Heart-Leaf, due to the beautiful leaf shape. Light The Sweetheart Plant is versatile. Best in medium light but can tolerate bright light and some degree of shade. Avoid direct sunlight however, as this may scorch the plant. Watering Requirements Keep the soil moist at all times. Allow the top of the soil to dry-out slightly before re-watering. Will tolerate some degree of drought better than having its roots too wet. Temperature Requirements Philodendron scandens prefers average household temperatures, between 16°C and 24°C is ideal with a minimum of 13°C. Can tolerate a draught but it is not recommended for best results. Humidity Requirements The Sweetheart Plant will do fine in normal home humidity, but thrives in more humid environments. Consider giving your Philodendron scandens an occasional misting for best results. Philodendron are poisonous to humans and animals. Keep away from children and pets.
